Back in 1997 my wife and I decided to seek out a street rod.  We took an East Coast vacation and wound up at the Northeast Street Rod Nationals in York, Pennsylvania.  I found some cars that I liked and she did the same, but none we both agreed upon.  On our return trip we passed through Arkansas where the Petite Jean swap meet was going on and lo and behold there sat our future ride.  It was a 1937 Studebaker Dictator two door flat back sedan.  It had been modified, but the body left stock looking.  The car has the following upgrades - Chevy V8, automatic with overdrive, stereo, electric wipers, air and heat, tilt wheel, bucket seats up front but original seat in rear.  The frame is narrowed 6.5" on each side and tubbed for that pro street look.  The car has been finished for about ten years.  We drive everywhere it goes, NO TRAILER.  We took the car to South Bend for the 150th anniversary of Studebaker and the photo was taken in front of the Studebaker Mansion in South Bend, Indiana.  We had a great time.  We took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2003 and I hurt the motor, so I am presently putting in MORE POWER, a 383c.i. Chevy with about 425hp!
